Create Space Updates: Blurry Photos, A Trip to Statesville, & Spring Cohorts

Hi Friends!

I have been busy with all things Create Space - mainly trying to promote awareness of the program and what it's all about.  I like instant rewards (don't we all?), but this growth is NOT instant; I need to do all the things and hope it blooms when it's ready. That's my pep talk to myself each day. 💛

1.  You're Invited: Create Space… One Blurry Photo or Screenshot at a Time 📱
Sunday, March 1 | 2–4 pm | Free | Arthur's Wine Bar in Belk

I'm hosting a casual photo clean-up + Mahjong afternoon.

  • Bring your phone and your messy camera roll. I'll share tips on how to clean it up.

  • Connect with Create Space friends. Bring a friend or come solo.

  • If you've been curious about Create Space, this is a great way to learn more and experience an event.

This amazing idea came from my friend, Emily Ratliff — and I loved it instantly.

It’s free. Wine + coffee available for purchase. Just show up.

2.  I Still Have Room in the Spring Cohorts

If you’ve been on the fence, I created an FAQ page to answer the most common questions about what Create Space actually is (and isn’t). Sometimes the hardest part isn’t interest — it’s prioritizing yourself.

If you’ve been through the program and loved it, would you consider:
• Forwarding this email, texting a friend who needs it, or sharing the enrollment link on social
Hopefully, this fall I'll be able to launch a Create Space 2.0 for the program alumni.

• Monday evenings (March 9 –May) — Madison Park / SouthPark

• Tuesday daytime (March 10 –May) — SouthPark / Myers Park / Dilworth

P.S. I've added a payment plan option if that's something you've been looking for.

3. Create Space Collective Retreat Recap – Statesville Day Trip

The Collective (which ALL participants are automatically part of!) took a little adventure to downtown Statesville; 5 stars, highly recommend.

We met at Haven Bakery & Coffee where I had the most divine hot honey goat cheese pastry with everything bagel seasoning. Truly life-altering.

Then we took a 2+ hour pottery throwing class at Create Pottery Studio (owned by Create Space Collective member, Gin Scott).

Let me just say: Demi Moore in Ghost has skills. I do not. But it was so fun.

That’s what the Collective is about — ongoing creative experiences throughout the year so you don’t lose the friendships or the momentum once your 10 weeks are over.

If you’ve completed a Create Space program or are one of my Charlotte coaching clients, you’re in. Watch for more pop-ups.

4. Book Corner

A fellow Create Space friend raved about Theo of Golden. Have you read it?

I joined the library waitlist for the audiobook and was 1,100th in line. 😅

I’m not a big book reader or listener, but another friend told me she listens to audiobooks while doing chores she dreads — and it’s a game changer.

I started listening to The Women by Kristin Hannah and I’m officially hooked.

If you have recommendations, send them.

If you’re new here and wondering what this community is about:

  • It’s friendship.

  • It’s creativity.

  • It’s trying things that are new to you.

  • It’s remembering who you are outside of the roles you play.

And if you’re someone who keeps almost signing up — this might be your nudge.

Thank you for being part of this growing, generous, creative community.

With so much gratitude,

MaryBeth 💛
